An Ode to Angel

18 years ago we brought home a kitten covered in fleas and earmites. Under all the ickyiness was the sweetest kitty ever. She was smart, playful, adorable, loving, soft, sweet, an excellent mouse-catcher, and a friend.

She was my kitten at the start, but she loved everybody. She also loved to attack everybody's ankles...she was super stealthy, hiding under tables, chairs, couches waiting for the perfect moment to pounce.

She had the loudest purrrr you will ever hear. She loved to snuggle and hang out. She didn't even mind being picked up and held for forever.

Angel was the best mouse catcher EVER. We had like a million in the garage last summer, and even though she was an "old woman", she singlehandedly took care of the mouse problem...killer.

Angel was never sick a day in her life...until last week. She had to go to the kitty ER because she was sick. Then yesterday she got my sister and brother's attention so she could snuggle one last time before it was her time to go.

Last night I lost the first pet that was really mine.

Rest In Peace Angel Williams. I miss you so much already.
