An Ode to Angel

18 years ago we brought home a kitten covered in fleas and earmites. Under all the ickyiness was the sweetest kitty ever. She was smart, playful, adorable, loving, soft, sweet, an excellent mouse-catcher, and a friend.

She was my kitten at the start, but she loved everybody. She also loved to attack everybody's ankles...she was super stealthy, hiding under tables, chairs, couches waiting for the perfect moment to pounce.

She had the loudest purrrr you will ever hear. She loved to snuggle and hang out. She didn't even mind being picked up and held for forever.

Angel was the best mouse catcher EVER. We had like a million in the garage last summer, and even though she was an "old woman", she singlehandedly took care of the mouse problem...killer.

Angel was never sick a day in her life...until last week. She had to go to the kitty ER because she was sick. Then yesterday she got my sister and brother's attention so she could snuggle one last time before it was her time to go.

Last night I lost the first pet that was really mine.

Rest In Peace Angel Williams. I miss you so much already.

Is Butter A Carb?

I'm taking a vacation! In March I will be visiting my cousin on the island of Kauai, Hawaii!!! I am so excited :)

But that also means I need to be swimsuit ready. So to quote the great Regina George "I wanna lose three pounds"...except I'd like to lose 5-10.

I really hate diets, so I thought I'd make a lifestyle change instead. So far I've cut out desserts and started exercising more. I'm running, walking, & going to zumba. Until last week that was all going pretty well...last week Girl Scout cookies came out, and I may or may not have bought a total of 6 boxes. My plan was to have 1 cookie per day, but last week at work was really crazy, so I probably had an average of 3-4 a day...plus I ate some Wendy's french fries with ranch dressing...yum, but sooooo bad for me.

Luckily I have a friend who's getting healthier, too, so we got back on track Thursday night with a really tough zumba class!

So here's to getting in shape for an amazing vacation!

New Computer

I can't believe it's been OCTOBER since I last posted. That's about when my computer started working about 50% of the time...then it was about 25% of the time...it still works, barely.

Now that I have my new computer, I will hopefully be better about updating!

So here's my first blog on my New computer:

I've been busy! & I plan on staying busy until the end of March, at least!

My friend Sarah & I went to the Lady Antebellum concert in Colorado Springs on December 1st!

I had a craft night at my place where we made ornaments & wreaths :) Here are our wreaths:

After that I had a Tacky Christmas Sweater party. Thanks Lindsy for the spinach-artichoke dip recipe!

The next day I went to Denver with Maria, Erin, & their friend Scott. It was all lit up for Christmas!

I'm standing exactly one mile above sea level!

The weekend before Christmas I flew home for my best friend Heather's wedding!

We opened presents while I was home, sorry no pictures of that. Christmas weekend I worked, looked at Christmas lights with Maria & Erin, and had a great Christmas Day opening presents from my cousin in Hawaii & hanging out with my friends from work: Maria, Erin, Sue, & Sue's family!
My tree with presents from my cousin underneath!

New Years Eve, I worked, then went to a party at MaryAnn's from work...so much fun!!

My friend Katie came to see me!

We tried to learn to snowboard, but since our 16 year old instructors best advice was to "be one with the board", we spent a lot of time learning how to get back on our feet.

We spent some time doing touristy things like going to Garden of the Gods and hanging out in Manitou Springs. In Manitou we discovered all the wine bars...and proceeded to shut each of them down...on a Sunday. It. was. awesome.

So, that's it for now!

Arriba, Arriba!!

A few weeks ago me & some friends from work went down to New Mexico for the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque. We stopped in Santa Fe the first night & hung out there for part of the next day. Then it was on to Albuquerque for the main event!

Saturday morning in Santa Fe we went to the market

The market is full of pretty colors!  Did you know artichokes had flowers? Me neither.

After Santa Fe we headed to Albuquerque to the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. We went to the balloon glow Saturday night and the Mass Ascension on Sunday morning. It Was Amazing!
